fans are letting their imaginations run wild after a bizarre and cryptic vignette aired during Saturday night’s show.
Many viewers were left wondering if , while others pointed to or Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson based on flashed in the creepy video.
Set in a church, the eerie clip featured a mysterious figure with flashes of religious imagery and references to stars from the Attitude Era.
As well as a license plate with the words Latino Heat (a nod to Eddie Guerrero’s signature low riders), we also had what seemed to be Jeff Hardy’s armbands and Bubba Ray Dudley’s taped glasses.
One telling moment also featured a gold medal, which could have a couple of meanings.
The overall presentation of the video was reminiscent of Bray’s early vignettes building to debut back in 2012, and most fans on social media were convinced he must be involved.
Of course, Bray was last seen in April 2021 in hisand The Fiend alter ego, before being shockingly released last summer.
He back in November, but it’s not clear what his next moves in the wrestling business will be – although a return to WWE would delight fans and really shake things up.
Another possibility – largely due to the medal – is Gable Steveson, who signed with the company following a great showing in Tokyo, although the overall package doesn’t seem to fit.
One strong option is a change of focus for Edge, who has used similar imagery during his run with The Judgement Day faction (and throughout his career as a whole).
In this case, the gold medal would be a nod to Kurt Angle, with everyone referenced – Angle, Guerrero, the Dudley and Hardy Boyz – being former opponents of the Rated R Superstar.
At the moment, it’s unclear where these videos are going, but fans are already buzzing and it’s hard not to get excited about what’s to come.
