has put Hulu on blast for allegedly producing the upcoming series about his life without his consent.
Starring Moonlight actor Trevante Rhodes as the former heavy-eight champion, fans were recently of what’s to come, which promises to give an ‘unauthorised and no-holds-barred look’ at the life of one of the most controversial sporting figures in history.
Formerly titled Iron Mike, Mike explores the tumultuous ups and downs of the 56-year-old’s boxing career and personal life – from being a beloved global athlete to a pariah and back again.
Mike also examines class and race in America, fame and the power of media, misogyny, the wealth divide and the promise of the American Dream.
However, the former pro made his feelings known about the biopic on Instagram.
‘Don’t let Hulu fool you,’ he wrote.
‘I don’t support their story about my life. It’s not 1822. It’s 2022. They stole my life and story didn’t pay me.
‘To Hulu executives I’m just a n****r they can sell on the auction block.’
Mike was created by I, Tonya screenwriter Steven Rogers, with Margot Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, among the executive producers.
In September 2021, stepping out in New York in character as Mike and first wife Robin Givens.
The American actress divorced Mike in 1989 after being married for eight months and was left distressed by the boxer’s biography Fire and Fear: The Inside Story of Mike Tyson – released the same year as the divorce.
The book mentions the moment he punched Robin while they were married.
Along with Trevante and Laura, Russell Hornsby, Harvey Keitel, Li Eubanks, Olunike Adeliyi and BJ Minor also star.

Mike will premiere on Disney+ in the UK under the Star banner on September 8.
