Dermatologist arrested for ‘trying to poison her husband over a month’

Authorities in Southern California have arrested a dermatologist for allegedly poisoning her husband.

Dr Yue Yu, of Irvine, was arrested after her husband of over 10 years told police he believed he was being poisoned. He said his health began to deteriorate over the course of a month.

The Irvine Police Department said he presented them with video evidence of the poisoning.

‘The allegations that were made by the husband was incredibly serious and we thought it was important to take quick investigative action on the case based on the allegation,’ a spokesperson for the police department told the .

Irvine police later told Metro.co.uk that the victim ‘placed hidden cameras in an area of the home that captured evidence Ms. Yu was poisoning him.’

Yu’s husband was hospitalized with ‘significant internal injuries’ but is expected to recover.

Yu, 45, was picked up on the street near her place of employment, police said.

Yu works as a dermatologist in Mission Viejo. She sees patients at Providence Mission Hospital.

According to a biography posted on the website , Yu has 14 years of experience in dermatology. She frequently treats seborrheic dermatitis and moles, and has been to perform micrographic dermatologic surgery since 2021.

The hospital issued a statement confirming that they were cooperating with the police investigation and that Yu’s issue did not affect patient care.

The reported that Yu’s biography was scrubbed from the hospital’s website.

Yu’s bail was posted at $30,000. She was released after making bail on Friday, Metro.co.uk has learned. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that they are still reviewing the case before pressing charges.

Yu and her husband live in a $2.7million mansion in Irvine.

The alleged poisoning comes shortly after a British family was on July 27 while traveling in Bangladesh. Two members of the family, the father and a 16-year-old son, were Ki**ed while three more were hospitalized.
