Moment heroic cops help deliver baby at a gas station

Police body cam footage captured the extraordinary moment officers raced to a gas station to help a woman deliver a baby.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department rushed to the rescue early Wednesday morning after their radio alerted them to a woman at a nearby gas station about to give birth.

Officer Juan Sierra, who is one of the officers who responded to the urgent call, recalled the incredible incident to.

‘It happened so fast,’ Sierra told the station.

‘Are you having a baby?’ Sierra asks the woman in the clip. ‘Yes, she is, oh my God.’

Sierra then uses his radio to call for an ambulance before dropping down by the woman’s side to help deliver the child, a healthy baby boy.

Video shows a brief but tense pause after the baby is delivered.

‘Come on baby, breathe, breathe, breathe,’ Sierra says. Several people gathered around can be heard giving instructions on how to hold the baby and support his head before he eventually lets out a wail.

‘Oh he’s making noise, he’s making noise,’ he says.

The mother and baby were taken to an area hospital soon after, where they are reportedly doing well.

‘Knowing that I was able to contribute in bringing a life to this world — I mean that alone is incomparable,’ Sierra said.
