Peterborough’s director of football, Barry Fry, has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in Ronnie Edwards.
Fry said that Chelsea certainly like Edwards after the Blues chiefs watched him play.
Chelsea have been doing some transfer business of late that has seen players like Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina arrive at the club.
But now they have set their sights on signing young Edwards from Peterborough this summer after his impressive start to the new season.
“I have had conversations with people at Chelsea FC who are in the know and who would be involved in any decision-making,” Fry told Peterborough Today.
Fry added: “They came to watch Lucas, but they were taken by Ronnie. They have not made a bid yet, but there are three weeks until the transfer window closes. They certainly like him.
“Virtually the entire Premier League knows about Ronnie and it’s interesting to see members of his England Under 19 team attracting attention now.”
