Nigerian defender, Stephen Eze, has expressed excitement after signing for newly promoted Scottish Championship club, Queen’s Park in this summer’s transfer window, Completesports.com reports.
Eze moved to the Scottish second-tier league side from Croatian club, NK Solin on a two-year contract.
He was previously coached by incumbent Queen’s Park gaffer Owen Coyle at Jamshedpur in the Indian Super League.
Eze says he is looking forward to the 2022/23 season with the historic Scottish club – the oldest football club in Scotland which was birthed in 1867.
“I’m very excited to be joining Queen’s Park FC, the oldest club in Scotland,” Eze told Queens Park’s official website.
“I am very excited about this opportunity and to be a part of what the club is trying to build with young modern football.
“I’m also excited to be reunited with the Head Coach, Owen Coyle. I cannot wait to meet the lads and get started.
“I’m looking forward to an exciting season ahead and hope to achieve great things with the club.”
Eze, 28, played for Lobi Stars between 2012 and 2014.
He was at Sunshine stars till 2016. He won the Nigerian Super Cup with Ifeanyi Ubah in 2017 before he joined Kano Pillars in November 2017.
In 2018 Eze moved to Bulgarian outfit, Lokomotiv Plovdiv and two years later he joined Kazakhstan Premier League side, FC Tobol.
In September 2020 he made his way to Indian Super League club Jamshedpur, then to Croatian side, NK Solin, a year later.
Eze has made 13 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Queen’s Park are currently ninth in the Scottish Championship on one point after match-day two.
