And former Manchester United midfielder, Savage, who is Macclesfield’s director of football, described the player as an ‘incredible signing’ on their board of directors.
The 17-year-old was said to have caught the attention of Liverpool’s goalkeeping coach, John Achterberg, in the Brazil squad that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Marcelo joined Liverpool in October 2020 for an initial £1 million, which could rise to £1.8m.
Savage took to social media to hail the deal as an “Incredible signing.
“Thank you to LFC for trusting us with their young players, well done to all involved in making this happen.”
