Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester City are ready to make Erling Haaland the highest-paid player in the English topflight if the Norwegian joins from Borussia Dortmund. The Citizens are leading the race for the 21-year-old striker as they close in on their chase to land him as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
Personal terms have already been discussed and the striker will earn in excess of £500,000 a week.
